i cant rally figure it out, i want to record my own little "set". is there is any good programs for this and how should i go about doin it, i got the line out from my mixer to the line of my computer and it still wont record

have you tried using your windows sound recorder ?

Get a program like cood edit 2000 which is pretty smple to use and has reasonable good features. From there you'll have to double click on the little speaker icon down in your system tray at the bottom right corner of your screen and click otions>properties>adjust volume for playback and click on the button to change it to recording. and there you'll be able to adjust volume as well as choose what inputs (mic, line in etc) you want to record from.

thats the main stuff, it's pretty easy from there
