Dual CDDecks

Hi to all, haven't posted in quite a while

Anyways, I'm in the market for a (cheap) dual cd deck. I've never looked much into CDJ's, nor dual cd decks, and I'm not quite sure which brands have a good rep, and which brands have a bad rep. I'm looking for a unit which is a good bang for the buck, yet one that I won't want to upgrade from in the next few months. Any help is appricated

I think denons are what most clubs carry in the dual section. Dn-D9000, and Dn-D4000. Dn-d6000 will be released some point in the future. Its basically 2 dn-s1000s except with 0.02 pitch rather than 0.1, and samplers, so it has all the effects and such as the dns1000. It looks very promising, if i was to get a dual player i would probably go for it.

Numark makes good dual cd players as well. See cdn90, and other models.

Pioneer is another option, but ive heard of too many problems with the cmx to consider it.

my personal favorite are the denon 2600s but they dont make them anymore. the dn-4000s are really nice and not alot of money, the 9000s have a ton of extra stuff but they are alot more $$$. i would go with the 4000s or find a set of used 2600s

in terms of mixing are dual cd players as accurate as a standard cdj like a cdj-300? I wanna be able to start utilizing my cd collection but i wanna get something that will last me a while and also allow me to make tight mixes. I know everyone always talks about pitch increment, but other than that what other advantages does a single cdj hold over a dual deck?

If you're not going to be doing any significant amount of scratching, then there is really no other large advantage that 2 cd decks will have over a dual cd deck - if they have the same pitch increments.

You might not like the shorter pitch faders on dual decks however. But you would probably get used to them.

What's the normal price point on used 2600's ? Remember, I'm looking for a decent budget dual CD deck, and the only 2600's I saw seemed rather pricey.

2600s got down to $1000 new before they got discontinued. I would think that you should be able to pick some up fairly cheap on ebay or whatever. i dont really know what they go for now but i guess it really depends on what kind of shape they are in.

0.1% at all ranges, according to http://www.usa.denon.com/catalog/pdfs/dnd4000dfu.pdf , page 15.
