neither

they are both pathetic

they used to be solid places for interviews and reviews but now they are just pathetic sellouts. Mixmag is nearly a tabloid at times and DJ Mag's pathetic progressive house is the future article hacked me off from years back. They interviewed deejays slamming trance but all the deejays got big playing trance, so it was kinda of dodgy. If I honestly had to pick, I'd go with Mixmag, just because I like their CDs more.

Is there another different magazine besides these 2 that you would recommend?

as andy said they are both pretty wank.

Mixmag is full of shit, although it can be amusing and they do have some mint cd's

dj on the other hand is prog elitism at its worst. really fucks me off at times the stance they take in there. but i still buy it for the equipment reviews and the record reviews.

Mixmag is balls
tacky, cheesy, and jumps on every bandwagon going- claiming 'they discovered' x person/drug/ club/night etc etc
Very pro drugs too to the point where they might as well have double page ads saying 'Take ketamine', and to be honest, not very well written and thin on content.
The cds are a bonus yes but thats all its worth buying for.
Shame as it used to be good many moons ago

Get iDJ instead

mixmag is utter dogshit but if you like the Daily Star then you'll prolly like it.

dj mag is much more serious but there is very little trance content... nothing i'm complaning about given the shiteness of trance atm.
