blow the lot on scraggy whores and crack.
new found scratching skills come with the former, and the latter will bring plenty of chances to find electrical goods at 'sale of the century' prices in exchange for a sweaty rock

The support for final crash sucks, so imo Serato Scratch live is better. As for the cdj-1000mk2, nice but expensive, and in all reality, i don't use cds as much as i would like to.

If your like me, go w/ ssl, it's the best piece of dj equiment i bought since my first 1200.

Pure genius.

Translation:
What I think Freak is suggesting is that you would be a considered a muppet if you purchase final crack errr... I mean scratch.
Final crack actually reminds me of someone I used to know but let's not go there.

To put it another way.
If you have decks already (which you must have or buying final scratch would be a real pointless task otherwise), FS will only really prove to be an addition in quantity of music where as a CDJ can actually take you to some new ground with things like hot cues and master pitch etc. Bung an effects unit onto that and you have an opportunity to get really creative.

Cheers
Nem

good point nem...

i'm trying to decide as well between a pair of CDJs or DNSs or SSL. I am leaning more toward the CDJs/DNSs now.

I own both cd decks, turntables, and ssl. Needless to say, i almost never use my cd players anymore, and i perfer the feel of vinyl. So when i wanna use a cd, i just pop into my cd rom drive and load the track into either tt w/ ssl.

Depends what your trying to do:

if you are trying to save on vinyl and buy digital downloads and spin those insntead, then getr serato. Thing is it also depends on wat you spin, if trance then you wont have problems finding digital downloads of tracks taht you want.. I bought FS for this reason last year, but then started spinning obscure techno, acid house, electro to the point that all the tracks that I will play now cannot be found in digital format..
If you want to be creative and try to do something differnet, thenI reccomend you get a CDJ-1000, not just becuase you can play mp3, cds etc, but also becuase you can sample wit it, hot cue, and link it up wit an fx unit to do some really sick stuff.
