Pioneer CDJ800 vs Denon DNS3000

What one dya think i should go for? (irrespective of their prices)

They can both scratch, but the Denon has pitch bend buttons (as well as the jog wheel) which I would prefer..

The denon has 0.02 increments at 4%, but the majority of the time I reckon ill be playing outside that so in that case both are 0.05 ..

I'm probably gonna buy either of these two, and get a CDJ100 as a second CD deck .. wats it like having one pioneer, and one denon? since im pretty sure the cueing systems r different..

I can't pick which one!
I hear the 800's are sick for scratching but .. with zabiela usin them (and the 1000's as well)

Also, o/t .. the denon 2600F has a scratch feature in it .. how does that work seeing as the jog wheel is piss tiny? im guessing it sux?

i have heard a lot of good things about the denon cd decks. they are probably the best value for money you will get on a cd deck at the moment. although it will be very handy to get used to the pioneer cueing system if you are serious about progressing into clubs.

the features of the denons look so sweet, i can see why you are in this dilema, i would be!

Yeah decisions decisions decisions lol

I think the different cueing systems wont be too much of a hassle, ive never used pioneers before .. only my mates denon 1800F's, and its pretty easy so hopefully it wont be too much trouble learning both..

back to the choice ... atm im leaning towards the CDJ800 for the followin reasons:

-Scratch emulation is apparently the best goin around? (think i read it in another thread)
-2 hot starts instead of 1
-quick return to cue at the touch of the platter
-visual marker display
-auto beat loop

but the denons have a lot of nifty features but i dont know how much value they hold to me... key adjust seems nice though

-key adjust
-Pitch Range: 4%, 16%, 24%, 50% ... not just 10%/100% for the 800s
-active spinnning platter (but does that actually have much purpose since i haven't used vinyl before?)
-pitch bend buttons, as well as the jog wheel (Freak mentioned that this is handy in another thread i think)
-5000 cue memory points (stored internally) where CDJ800 only has 1 stored per disc? (thats the way i read it)
-0.02 increments in -/+4% mode .. but i dont really care for this as ill probably be using it in -/+10% a fair amount of the time i think
-software upgrades (in the future)

theres other stuff like samplers, 100% pitch resolution etc that i haven't bothered mentioning, since they both have it..

one thing im disappointed bout with the denons is the 'listen to the outro' bit .. they had it in the discontinued 2600F's, but this model dont seem to have em

Well, think of it this way:

Do you actually have the intention to go out and play in clubs and stuff?

Because if you do, you might be better of getting the Pioneers, since those are used in almost every club.

What I would do is try to find a store which sells both of the cd-players, and try them out both. In that way you will have an ideal comparison between the two.

If this is not possible, just make a list of features that both decks have and remove the features you don't need. In that way, you should come real close to finding the right deck.

Good luck!

the hot cues on the 800 (and the 1000) are fantastic, just listen to a zabiela set and imagine you are him, then decide which cd deck to buy

was speakin to the guy that works there he says they have an annual sale .. and it sounds like from wat he was saying that they have shit so cheap once a year cause the manufacturers give them reduce the prices temporarily, and they pass on the discount..

mid-october .. must remember for next year!

plus they had doorbuster sales for the first day of the sale week,

had 2 HDJ100's, $100 down from $300!!

and a pair of vestax PDX2000mk2's at half price..
