you're totally right about that.... people saying 'I want to be a dj', just because it seems that it has grown in some kind of trendy thing. You're interesting if you're a DJ 'because of the attention', 'because you're more special than the guy/girl next to you on the dancefloor because the dj is on a stage', 'because you know a lot of interesting people'.... PUGE!
There are soooo many people acting like that, unbelievable... guys who introduce themselves as managers of a club, promoters, whatever.. I already don't believe another word from them if they start off with telling me that. Most of them want just want to show off by 'knowing the DJ' (like THAT's something special, DJ's are also just human!:rolleyes , and aren't interested in you as a person or in your music.
About girls being asked to play because of their looks: you don't get there by looks only. Being a girl also has disadvantages: people look at you like 'o, another girl trying to be special' or 'it's a girl, so she can't play (as if playing music is only something guys could do!)
Girls have to do a lot more than guys to prove themselves!!!
