yeh, same here, when i start recording i think i try too hard to get it right and end up screwing it up
so im gonna keep practicing without recording until i get better. I do have about 8 recorded mixes but each one has 1 or 2 trainwrecks which sucks cos the rest of it is really good.
meh, keep practicing

I used to get this and its fecking annoying, actually ,tbh, im still never happy with anything i record! Even if the beatmatching is pefect, ill always find something else wrong with it!
The best way i found to get round the "over concentrating" and nervousness when recording is to record as much of my mixing as possible, then when it comes to recording something for a promo, your a little more relaxed.

any good dj is naturally going to be unsatisfied with his mixes. I say any good dj, I should say any ambitious DJ. Don't be like the people who suck and are cocky (a lot of the noobies who think they have this ridiculous natural talent after playing on tables for 5 minutes). I am sure your mixing is fine, or will become so, and if you are never totally satisfied that just shows you want to keep getting better and outdoing yourself. It's a good way of thinking in my opinion.

I used to have huge difficulties mixing while recording too, I got nervous and started fucking mixes up.
Nowadays I record every single mix I make and it's getting easier every single time... though since I am over-critical I don't put any of them online since I always find something wrong about them...
Best mixes go unrecorded, I guess. I concentrate too much on the mixing. It is so much easier to mix when you don't care about technical details.

everyone has this problem, we always want to pull out the perfect mix and get nervous I guess. But as said, recording every time is your best bet IMO; I don't record it every time and when I do it I'm actually quite more focused and they can be alright, but I'm sure that if I'd do it everytime, I wouldn't get nervous as often...
