What do you think of 'hard' tunes

with breakdowns which almost totally cut out the entire tune for a minute?

example - bk vs dave randall - ascension

i actually LOVE this tune, but i HATE the breakdown style.

I love the way that track goes up a key when it drops, energetic as hell.

I find this sort of music very uninteresting.

well hard isnt nessaceriy bad. i like hard stuff, but too hard for me is when the kick is distorted. that is just annoying to me.

EDIT: also if the BPM is more than 145-148 it gets annoying too, although there are a few exceptions

Weel personally I don't like these hard ones, but sometimes they're useful when someone's playin' a set...Then the can really move the dancefloor!

when i say breakdown in this sense i mean almost all the sound completely stops coming out of the speakers. for me, this totally disrupts the flow of the 'hard' music which has been coming out.

i definitely have a lot of time for 'hard' stuff, i probably just don't like "hard house" -- HH is only one type of 'hard' music

Ascension is hard trance, not hard house.

Very true, the kind of tune i think you ment to say was altitude - Altitude (SHOKK Rmx). This tune has a amazing break down that just builds right up into a stomper!

I love the breakdown on Altitude (SHOKK Remix) as well, the way it totally cuts the track out and slams it in totally different to how it left.

agree, i just wanted to give an example of the type of tune.

i don't have a lot of HH to give an example of really :s

apart from most of the stuff from any given tidy album - don't know a lot of them off by heart tho

ps the reason i probably like ascension is cos it isn't HH
