depends on what you mean by cheap. i would say go for something like a firewire 410. its portable and can be completely bus powered so you can use it anywhere. it costs like 250 quid though.

Echo makes a card that plugs into your PCMIA slot, which looks interesting. It is called the echo Indigo. I don't know how much this costs. http://www.echoaudio.com/Products/C...ndigo/index.php
Creative has external Audigys, which are pretty cheap http://www.creative.com/products/pr...04&product=9103
M-Audio has the Audiophile USB, which is my favorite. http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_...leUSB-main.html

Probly can but you might need an adapter depending on the monitors age and so on. adapters are not too expensive so shouldnt be too hard to find one id suggest looking on ebay or maybe going to bestbuy

As long as your laptop has a vga contact it should work.

It depends on which model 23" Cinema Display you have and what kind of monitor port you have, the old ones used Apple Display Connector, which needs an expensive adapter (I believe drbott.com has them) and the new ones use DVI, which your laptop may or may not have (if it has VGA you'll need another expensive adapter)
