It's the basic of the basics from what I've heard (for direct drives that is).

Dunno exactly how good it is though.

is it better than the numark TT1625?

I would say the TT1625's would be better just because they're not made entirely of plastic like the Stantons are. That said, I have no idea which would be better, as I've never used either.

I have these exact same turntables.. 2 things i must point out is that the torque is not strong enough so for cueing, you have to flick it give it that extra nudge to push it into place. Another is that after 4 months, the slider will eventually screw up resulting in the turntables speeding up by itself, making it hell to mix with.

Just cowboy up and buy the technics. If you don't, you'll just end up selling what you have for a fraction of what you bought it for in order to upgrade to the techs. I waited almost a year to save up and get the pair of techs instead of stantons or numarks, and I am very very very glad I did.
