You can say it's progressive trance exactly because it doesn't go anywhere and it took the whole scene one step forward, from where I see it.

Anyways, this was discussed a while back (whats so great about flight 643?) and there was even a poll (Flight 643 Genre Classification) about it.

what a load of bull! i couldnt care less who produced it, i like it, i heard it at a club which in the way u talk u must have not and at is awsome, to be honest i hated it at first, i also think it is (was) garabage, but it growns on you, and then u love, its great at 2165216216 volume with 20 speakers and 300 people with green lasers

I think it is great to dance to, and challenging to mix. I would not define it as anything, but if I had to I would say it is a progressive trance, hard house, techno hybrid. The song is full of energy, and if this song was by ATB I think it would only help him regain his footing in the trance industry.

I am definitely not gonna flame anyone over this, but i do have to say flight 643 is not that good, in fact its just about the only tiesto song ill turn off if it comes on, its an okay filler song, but not at all special. as for it taking the genre forward? i dont know if i beileve that. everyone knows the leaders in prog house are the sashas and diggers of the world, definitely not tiesto. tiesto plays songs that oakie played a year ago. im not saying this is necessarily bad, usually they are awesome songs and thats why they still rock (or trance?!) but sometimes it seems people blindly follow dislikes/likes(people, not songs) in this scene and never become open-minded enough to just ignore the dj/producer and actually listen to what the music is. obviously every1 is given their own opinion, but i say if its good, listen dont hate...haha late/

Well.. first of all.. calm down.

You might be right that Flight 643 is a bit monotone, but that's usual for progressive tracks. Tiesto said that this track is supposed to be something more progressive than pure trance.

And talking about kiddie trance, Pulsedriver is one of the most commercial dude around here. When I heard Urban Train the first time, I didn't even know that it was from Tiesto, same with Legacy from Push. It isn't the name that counts, I don't like In My Memory for example. I don't care a lot who's producing the music, as long as it sounds good. If Pulsedriver would do such a quality track I wouldn't mind at all, if I'd like it, even better! I personally think Flight 643 is good because it's special. Surely, it's no masterpiece (like imo Urban Train!), but it's way different from other tracks. I can't stand Komodo from Picotto neither, but I love Baguette or Imperiale. Same as Essential DJ Team - We Hate To Rock. It isn't a great track, but it's special. And that counts a lot because the Trance scene is huge and 1000 tracks that sound the same aren't that exciting.

So it's up to you if you prefer good quality tracks or / and special tracks. It's just an opinion like everybody has, no need to freak out dude

i also h8ed this trak when if first came out it sounded shite..but like u said coup it has grown on me 2. and true..there are much beta trax out there..i believe ppl do this with other dj's including tiesto,pvd,picotto or whoeva..if theyre well known no1 dares state their true opinion cos theyll get flamed about it just cos oohh its tiesto shouldnt mean u love the track. howevea it isnt bullshit just not as good as other productions ie. urban train...speakin of god(tiesto) i hear today that he has a forthcoming single coming out?!urban world??any news on this??any1 have it??

I really didn't like this track and I do agree that some people like just because it's Tiesto but I've never seen this "MC Mlee Hee" character make a positive comment and threads like this are realy unnessasary.

I hate to have to be the one to break this to everyone, but 643 is an outstanding tune. Its just different from wot u usually hear and that breakdown is massive!

It's not the greatest record of the year but it is far from Garbage...I give Tiesto props for trying something different from the usual uplifting stuff that Tiesto produces. I wouldn't call it progressive though, it's more like energy trance but I like the fact that the record moves forward with breaks instead of reaching a climax like normal records. Actually I like the Kosheen vs Tiesto - Hide on Flight 643 more then the original Flight 643. The vocals give the record more character and a better record to dance to.

finnally...Flight 642 is not the best record Tiesto has produced but It's not the worst I've heard either...6/10 for being experimental !!!
