if you have a good PC (>1ghz,512MB ram) and 2 decks, virtualdj will be PERFECT.just buy a maya 44 usb for only $120 (maybe less)and you'll get "zero" latency(better than FS) !!I can tell you: it's just like real vinyl !!
it's extremely easy to configurate and the support forum is great !

I've not tested mixvibes but I've heard many excellents feedbacks about it.it needs an asio sound card (maya 44 usb !!)for best results.
Djdecks is a bomb, for only $29 you can play with fs, mrs pinky or VDJ vinyls, simply amazing.you need a big PC. if you have only 1 deck, I think it's a better choice (for the moment) cos it keeps the pitch when the playing deck is desactivated ( hope you understand...).great support. needs an asio sound card (maya 44 usb !!)for best results.

no preamp needed, no y rca needed if you want to play with real vinyl!
just forget FS or SSL, and get a great soft ( virtualDJ is to me the best dj booth simulation :if you remove the BPMcounter and the waves from the original skin, you'll get the perfect tool to learn how to mix ,beatmatch etc...)with a great sound card(fs preamp is a big overpriced shit)that you can use with other softwares (reason, cubase...)! it's just more professional.

Just wait, and spend the money on FS 2.0. ZERO latency and many more features.
Don't settle for anything less. I know it sounds like a good deal, but you really get what you pay for sometimes.

sometimes, cheap is not less... it's just more intelligent. (in this case I really think it's BETTER). you get what you pay for ? you pay for a great soundcard, and a great software used by thousands of djs !
nothing more ! why FS is so expensive ? everybody knows it's made of shitty composants! because they want to fuck stupid guys who trust in cash !!

^ You're comment doesn't make much sense.
I understand what the original poster is looking for, it seems like a good deal, I was just offering a word of caution. Yes FS is expensive. I don't agree that it's made and produced poorly. Do you really think on of the biggest purests out there (PVD) would use a shotty system?
I've had no problems with FS, I think it's a great program. The otehrs are great too. I was just offering caution. And as I said before, you do sometimes get what you pay for. I still stand by that.
