Unhappy Finding track times?

I am just wondering how you guys, manage to split large Livesets up - like how you work out the track times, when like a Cue file cant b found on the internet???

The only way I have done it, is to just listen to the set, and try to roughly get the times, but I am figured there must be some other way cause some of the Cue files that are created, are like

00:00:00 -----there is no way you can get the Frames (is that even wat its called??!), by just listening to it? Would be very grateful if u's told me how you manage to do it

Cool question man, i was wondering this myself. I know that when i got a mate to download the Paul Van Dyk set Live @ Rosemontags a few months ago i didn't have a que sheet but i did have the tracklist. Thing is he had split the track lengths to change every 10 minutes so i had to listen to the whole set and write down the times that the song changed over... complicated but it worked

I think that there is a way of burning live sets onto blank cd's by using a que sheet so that it is done automatically as well, i think...

Yea, I think it depends on what Software you are using to write the CD, if they can use Cue Sheets. Just would be nice to find out how you actually work out the cue sheet times properly!!! Obviously some of the ppl's on here must do it

ah its quite simple... i think (LOL)
yes you have to listen the whole set.. and i use a little program....
you add the set you want to create a cue sheet for in that program. you listen to the set.. and in the program they've made buttons so you can easily add a cue point... just click on it when you think a new track starts... then it adds a new track... after that you can edit it so the cue point is precisely to the point you want to have it (you can change it by a single frame)
after you;ve created a cue point,, you might know that a track is played for about 4 / 5 / 6 minutes. so you can skip 4 minutes or so by clicking another button, and after that by 10 secs, so you don't have to listen for 80 minutes to a set for completing the cue sheet
after you're done.. just save and burn with cdwrin or nero.
hope made it clear for you.... good luck... if you have any further questions.... don't hesitate to contact me....
damn i feel so good to help people

you can try using http://www.exactaudiocopy.de

it's the best CD ripping software for windows and includes a wave editor + you can use it to burn CDs. it's cardware.

the wave editor also acts as a cuesheet editor. it lets you zoom in on the waveform so that you can get a precise cuepoint. when you have the marker where you want it, you just go to the menu CUESHEET ... INSERT ... TRACK START and it will keep a record of that cuepoint. when you are all done finding the cuepoints, you just save the .cue file and then open it in a text editor if you want to add track/artist names.

really nice program and around 1MB in size. the drawback is that it is not the easiest to figure out how to use, especially when trying to calibrate your CD drive for ripping CDs.
