Partitioning is splitting up a hard drive so it appears that it is multiple drives.
For example, lets say you have one (1) one hundred and twenty gig hard drive. You could split it into a 20 gig partition a 30 gig partition and a 70 gig partition. When you go to look at this drive (as in Microsoft's 'My Computer'), it will actually appear that there are three drives with the amount of space allocated to each (C:20GB, D:30GB, E:70GB)
Theres no actual physical split, the drive just reports that there is. At least, im pretty sure this is how it works.
Ive got about 90 minutes on my current rar file...
Ive got at least one more big one to do (roughly another 90 minutes, and another potentially big one (hopefully no more than 30) to move before I cant start formatting & partitioning. What I plan to do is, format the 80 gig drive into a 10 GB partition (Linux) and a 70 gig partition (data), move all the backed up folders from the 40 gig to the 70 gig, format the 40 gig, Install windows on the 40 gig, and then rearrange my data. its about 0124 locally here, so I hope to be done by 6am. Good thing I got the day off work tomorrow

eh tribu, you should get the oldschool norton commander which works on dos.
that will save you lots of time, especially considering you're using winrar
lets see if i can find it somewhere quick, actually, cant find it in a few minutes, but i did find many clones, im guessing some of them will be decent (get something for dos!) click
