Whoa, this guy is pretty good...

Martial Arts Goodness. Far-removed from self-defense, of course, the modern "tricks" Martial arts has evolved from much of TaeKwonDo and Wushu Kung-Fu.

Check out what Tim Pas can do...

wow. i thought it was all special effects in the movies, i didnt know there were actually people that could do that!

few things i get from this video

this guy is a major martial artist

he probably messed up a bunch of that stuff but to us we'd never know the difference

if i ever get in a fight with someone at a bar i pray its not someone like that cuz you never know until its too late. i also pray they take pity on me because im drunk

Well, it's easy to derive that when you see movies like The Matrix that, instead of employing ACTUAL martial artists, they take some of Hollywood's worst actors, train them for 9 months, then try to pass them off in the movies as Martial Arts masters. Anyone whose done the Martial arts for a while can tell that they're on wires in every scene, and that the only good thing Keaunu Reeves has going for him is a decent right side-kick.

However, though this guy is really hardcore, it's never too late for you guys to begin taking classes. Mr. Time Pas (from the vid) began training when he was 10, and he's only 24 now. How old will you be in 14 years? You'll probably still be in your prime, and that's not even considering how hard you're trying at it. All it truly takes is determination, and I really, really, mean that.

For more excellent vids like this, might want to check out

www.bilang.com

or just go to Tim Pas' site...

www.timpas.com

There's a few vids of him messing up on the flips and stuff, kinda funny...but even when he messes up, he still looks pretty good doing it. lol

I don't mean to be picky, but that looked kind of sloppy. I've seen a few of these videos before and some of the people are fantastic. Obviously it takes a lot of skill to do those kicks, and some of them were really impressive, but he just looked too slow when he was doing them. The one at the end where he does a spinning back kick against the punchbag, but misses on the first turn but kicks it on the second was good though.

Give him a few years

I sorta see what you mean in that he was 'sloppy' but I have a feeling you might be mistaking speed with 'snap'. I do agree that on a few of them he seems like he sorta struggling to keep up with his own pace and it looks like he slows down a bit, but what he lacks in apparent speed in mid-air he more than makes up for in grace; this is, of course, due to his acquired flexibility - Did you see those side-kicks? Holy Sheet!

The modern Martial arts are also just a whirlwind of activity, consisting of people who seem to be individual whirlwinds in their own rights. Take Matt Mullins for example - if you've seen the XMA documentary on the discovery channel, there's a scene where he just jumps up in the air and does a)inner-crescent kick b)outer-crescent c) spin-hook kick....and THEN lands! That's a 900 and it's absolutely insane.

Anyways, this is just a sampler vid - he's pretty much free-styling it. Check out the other vids at his site if you want to see some of his competetion forms and stuff. I'm not saying his the greatest martial artist to ever grace the Earth, but I think he's worked quite hard for the last 14 years, and it definitely shows in his kicks and the like.
