A small favour...

Hi

as you can see on the left side of this post, im live in norway

at this moment at school in my english lessons we have a project work about English speaking countries.

i had to choose a subject which was related to a country where english is the prior language.

I choose Clubmusic in England as my suject, and now i have to find out some stuff about the club scene in the UK\England

after doing some research i ended up with a more specific theme to work with and thats: "how did clubmusic(trance\techno\house) find its way to the UK\England ? and , "Does it effect the Society? if it does, how?"

ive sent this request as a pm to some of you who live in england , but after some thinking i thought "why not?"

all of you can help me more than just a few of you , if you are willing to help me out though

all i need are either some answers to the questions or a url to a site where i can find the answers myself

Thnx in advance!!

GreetZ!

I will do my best to help. Club music, if you mean trance was brought back from ibiza in around 1989, with people like brandon block, and jules, and oakey all bringing it into the clubs. The club seen at the mo over here is really split between dance and uk garage.

Clubbing is huge in england, with many people going out on mainly friday and saturday nights, but most to get toally drunk, and pull. So the club seen over here is mainly pubs, or atleast more up market drinking places, like bar med and hogshead in my area, as well as yates.

Other nights are know where near as busy. So the weekend is the time that people like to go out and socialise, and drink themselves under the table.

But club wise this is mainly the same.

So socially (i am doing sociology a level, so i will try and help in those kinda terms) in england clubbing is huge. It is a way for people to meet others, have a good time and socialise.

I think it brought about the change in young people, who decided they could have a good time and go out on their weekends, so shaping the lives. With people being more social and enjoying life.

I would say it does afect society. As it relieves stress. And it can bring people together, which can only be a good thing. Unfortunatly due to the huge amount we do drink when we go out, there is also the violent side. With vilence breaking out. But luckly, i think that if you walk in to a good trance club, or dance club, there is not normally many problems.

There is also a big drug problem, which is spread in clubs. I cant say i like it, but clubs are a good place for people to buy and sell drugs, and for people to experience them

I cant think of anything more, i hope that helps, but it may sound like a loud of crap. Ask paul wilson, he could help you a lot more
