Not really. I choose PKs over Shoot-outs any day of the week. I thought it was dumb by the MLS to come out with that alternative. As if it was hockey. Bad move. They lost the little respect I had for them with that. PKs all the way.

I actually was at that LOOOOOONG game ! DC United vs. New England Revolution....
both very good teams (even though im a DC fan).
yeah it was kinda awkward waiting (very nerve wrecking) on those PKs. But Rimando proved to be better then reis (although that bald biach is pretty good too)....
it was a great game! In my oppinion New England is much better than Kansas !

Oh man that's awesome! I didnt even know the championship was being played
I'm a United fan as well, but unfortunately down here at school I don't get The Washington Post to know when games are on...
This is what happens when you let ESPN tell you what sports to watch..

Congrats to DC United.
I’ve just caught the highlights on mlsnet.net, it seemed to have been a decent game. I’ve caught a few MLS matches over the last few years and I have a lot of respect for this league and the work they’ve done to promote the beautiful game in North America. This league has produced some quality players and I look forward for some new teams to be added and better players from Europe to be brought over.
It was nice to see a strong contingent of DC fans travel across the country to the Home Depot Center for a game of football.
I'm no fan of MLS either. I only watched the first game between Galaxy and San Jose(I think those were the teams) at the beginning of the league. That was a long time ago. Have never watched a match again. Except for those crazy shoot-outs every now and then. Absurd. I laughed every time a guy started running towards the goal.

o well that shootout stuff dosnt exist anymore.Man I remember I was in Colombia for a while when the MLS started 10 years ago, my sister sent me a VHS of the opening day,I was so proud of the support the league had at the time and a couple years later Miami got a franchise with Pibe Valderama,I went to a couple of games, but I havnt really followed the MLS as much since the franchise left here.
People say the level of play is poor, which is true ( a reason I dont watch too much of it,Im spoiled by other leagues), but what do you expect when all the world class players are in other places of the world. The MLS has devoloped alot of USA homegrown talent that has earned respect around the world which really wasnt evident prior to 94.And also reaching the Quarters in 2002 WC is a product of the MLS.
I also believe the Refs have alot to do with it,they make so many bad calls its like they kill the rythym of the games.Refs in the Concacaf zone are horrible.
but all in all Im proud of our little league

Many of the players in the national team don't play in the MLS. The league is not good at all. It is hard for any player to gain some recognition. I wish that would change.
