KarateKid FX using send/recieve

ok i got my new vestax pcv275 in the mail.

it's fucking awesome.

but, i'm not quite sure how to use my efx 500 with it...

with my old mixer, the 500 was plugged between the master and my speakers and i had absolutely no problem using it.

now with the send/recieve, i'm not quite sure...

i've tried playing around with it but with mixed success.

could you guys please give me some pointers on using the 500 with send/recieve?

thanks!

I have only used mine with the DJM-500 mixer from Pioneer and it works like this:

- connect the efx to the send/receive jacks on the mixer
- set effect to send/receive
- when you turn on the effects on the mixer, it then pipes the audio to the efx box.

What does the manual say for your mixer?

EDIT: By looking at a picture of your mixer, i would assume you would just throw the effect lever to either pre or post to send it to the efx box.

Make sure the send it plugged into the input of your FX unit, and the output of your FX unit is piped back into the receive. Make sure that the effects knobs are turned up, and that the channels you want to send to the unit are set to pre or post.

no no i know how to plug it in...

i mean how do you use it? i could use the 500 with my old setup like a pro (well almost ) but now i can't do half the things with my new setup...

am i just using send/recieve wrong or something?

i'm thinking of just screwing the send/recieve thing and going back to my old setup

i screwed the send/recieve and have it like you did with the old mixer

for some reason i can never get decent results with the send/recieve on the pcv275. it always sounds dull, or there is feedback, or both. maybe we are doing it wrong.. but i like having it on the master. true, it limits what you can actually do with the effects, but i would sacrifice that any day for it sounding good.

the manual for the mixer is pretty useless on the subject.

Like I said in another thread, very few mixers actually have a decent FX loop. Rane Empath is the only non FX mixer with a great FX loop I have heard about.
