am i the only one ...

am i the only one to get tired of those neverending outros which ruin the track ? example : kyau vs albert feat. julie - not with you (ronski speed vocal mix) , the track would be perfect without that.

like you've just stated yourself i reckon some work well while others are pointless and take away from the track

I agree with you, although i have to disagree on the point that you think Forever Today has a good ending, personally i really REALLY dislike the intro & outro of the tune, esp. the intro ruins it for me

ya sometimes the outro can be really annoying on those tracks i try and mix out of it before the horrible ending.

well yeah, when you think vinyls are mainly for mixing then it's pretty normal... they will have to end those damn tracks somehow don't they?

I would agree in many cases, but there are two arguements I can see for having a rather long outtro.

1. Some songs I like so much I just don't want to hear it end, so even if it's just the basebeat I don't care if it trails on for a long time.

2. As a (crappy) amateur DJ, I need that outtro to bring in my next track. You can't just throw one song after another, their characteristic sounds would mix and most likely sound bad.

I understand what you're saying; I used to feel the same way. But now I realize that those long outro's are there simply for the purpose of mixing! It makes it so much easier to mix when your trax have long intros and outros.

+1 Most tracks, especially most remix versions, are made for mixing, rather than just to listen to straight through

Intro's and outro's are for djs man...without their existance, you can't mix. even if you're not a dj, just go to mixmeister.com and get some software...even none djs can pick on fast how to use it...and then you can do your own mixes and adjust the track lengths to your liking

yes i agree, i know it is for mixin, but if the dj is good he can mix even if the outro is short, at least i prefer a 30 sec outro, it is enough to mix and not so annoying to listen to

its got nothing to do with whether the dj is good or not, but everything to do with what sounds good. the point of a long outro is to leave it open for the dj to do something with it. if a dj decides to cut it short, he/she can do. if they want to do a 2/3 minute mix, they also can.
