sound quality Cubase sx2

Hi sound quality question

I'm using Cubase SX2 with VSTs such as Waldorf Attack, and Novation V-Station
The sound coming straight off the MIDI is pretty good, but if I put my headphones on
(PIONEER HDJ 1000) it sounds like a bloody mess.

is there tweaking I need to do, or what? I'm using a Kick drum from the Attack 4 times on 4 channels from the same instrument. I wonder if thats the problem...

any help would be appreciated
thanks

i'm pretty confused with your question too, dick.. your sarcasim isn't appreciated

no sound comes from MIDI.. it comes from the synths.. are you saying that it sounds good on your speakers but not on your headphones?

yes im saying it sounds good on my speakers, but not on my headphones. why am I a dick now? I just mentioned that the sound “generated by the synths used in my MIDI tracks” sounds good on my speakers but what seems to be overpowered on my headphones.

I was being sarcastic because I was being corrected on technical use of the English language when that aspect has nothing to do with my question nor does it confuse what I am trying to get at.

that's why you're a dick.. he was just trying to help

what kind of speakers are you using? if they're cheap, came with your computer speakers.. perhaps you should mix on your headphones then

ok im a dick - i apologize - its not like its the first time someone has called me a dick - its sorta in my nature, but im not really a dick but just my impatience gets the better of me.... but i dont think he was just trying to help - there was an apparent lack of effort for the word "try"

so ya my speakers are good quality

I just notice that the sound is muffled on the headphones as if its clipping but all my levels are good.

One thing I would try is to burn the track on a disc and then play it on as many systems as possible. If it sounds crap on everything except your computer speakers then your mastering is way off... if it sounds great on everything but your headphones then your headphones are shit

No you didn't. Thats was the problem, ass (just to break the monotony of you being called dick).

But since im a nice and kozy guy, here my tip. Check what/the output you got your headphones connected to. And try to avoid connecting them directly to you soundcard.

Cheers

anywho, thanks for the tips, mr mystery i think you are correct, I gotta do some more mastering...

Cryogenic thanks for the tip - my headphones are connected in my mixer which is fed from the sound card.

I'll take a look at it this weekend - I definately however need lots of practise mastering... so we'll see

you homosexual no one wants to hear about dicks in your ass and your headphones hooked to your urthrea....... anyhow tho its probly your speakers that are shit and you might have the volume adjusted wierd so when you hook up your headphones it accutally is in fact clipping on the audio output but not within the program. try adjusting your windows sound volume when you hookup your headphones, the other issue might be the way your speakers are hookedup, i know when i have my computer hooked to my pa system my tracks sound somewhat decent but i lack the abilty to notice small subtitles becuase of the noise they create and the range they hit but on my mdrs700s it sounds alot differnt becuase of the abilty to indivually pick out sounds.. so try messing with your volume settings and try playing it on more then one system as stated above...

its like when you just finsh a set and you burn it to cd you put it on your car stero your home theater your bedroom stero and on your walkman to ehar hwo it sound becuase every device will give you a differnt sound, same concept just differnt shit.
