Michael Moore: 'Bush Got More Votes'
Democrat conspiracy mongers currently pushing for a recount in Ohio in hopes of overturning the presidential election got no help last night from conspiracy monger-in-chief, Michael Moore, who told "Tonight Show" host Jay Leno that President Bush won the contest fair and square.
Asked why Democratic hopes went up in smoke on Election Day, Moore said simply, "I think Bush got more votes." "The Republicans - I'll give them this - they had a story to tell," the Bush-bashing filmmaker conceded. "The Democrats, often times, aren't very good at telling a story."
Moore explained:
"And the [Bush] story was: Out of the ashes of Sept. 11 rose one man. And he stood on the rubble of lower Manhattan with a bullhorn and he said, 'I will protect you.'
"And he did," Moore added, as the audience began to applaud. "And we were never attacked again."
Dressed in a business suit and clean-shaven for the first time in years, Moore couldn't resist inserting the caveat: "That has nothing to do with whether we will be attacked again."
Still, his advice to disgruntled Dems had nothing to do with recounts or stolen elections or voter disenfranchisement.
"[Bush's victory] was just a couple of percentage points," the chastened-sounding movieman said. "People who voted for Kerry shouldn't be depressed at this point. They should pick themselves up . . . There's another game in four years. And we'll come back and do the best we can."
"You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig."
Acting all nice and warm now...too bad he doesn't support any of those jihad extreme liberal conspiracies
better yet...
!You can put lipstick on a pig and Michael Moore will still devour it in one gulp."""

It's funny how Republicans bash on Moore for being fat, when they have their own pill-popping fatass as their spokesmen: Rush Limbaugh.

I am not so sure I agree with your statement that Michael Moore is a moron. He has brought a lot of issues to the table; if not that then he has certainly made a lot of American people question the issues that are going on in their society. THERE is a force fed propaganda that is heavily weaned onto these citizens. Therefore; I believe anything that will make them take a second look into what they truly believe make this man a brilliant one.

Moore did bring up some very valid points in his last movie, but I'm still really irritated by Moore being used by Republicans as the poster boy of anyone who's to the left of them. Ann Coulter is more extreme than Moore, so maybe she should be defined as the poster girl for the right? Today she said that Canada should be lucky we allow them to share the same hemisphere as the U.S.

Unfortunately the Americans who go to see Moore's movies are mostly people who are already aware of these issues. The conservative religious right keep using the flag as blindfold, or use aspects of Moore's personality to excuse themselves from getting familiar with his points.

Kind of reminds how many critics tend to deal with Noam Chomsky. A lot of attacks on his personality but very seldom on his arguments.

I believe several people here have directly critiqued Chomsky's specific arguments. Neophono comes to mind ...

Thats interesting.
I am a right-wing person ... I think we can all agree to that no?
And I've seen Moore's movie (it was damn stupid in my opinion and waste of time, bowling for columbine was at least entertaining, but that's me). Since I don't think one's opinion should be build on the groud of similar minded opinon, I welcomed some critism. I couldn't find any in his movie however, but I gave critisim an opprotunity.
That being said, how many of my left-wing, liberal-agenda friends say
Ferinhype 9/11 ? How many Michael Moore supporters have watched that movie? Have been willing to recieve crisitim of their own beliefs in change?
I think there is a bit of a double-standard here...
The liberals need to learn a few things too.

Yeah, I know, I've seen proper criticism of his stuff also and I wasn't really referring to this forum. An editor for the biggest south-swedish daily news paper sprang to mind when I read trancaholic's post. The editor, who normally is quite an educated man, did a high profile op-ed piece when Chomsky came to visit Sweden for a big book show. Basically trying to defeat Chomsky's theories or statements by character assassination. Chomsky actually replied and asked why the editor didn't discuss up the actual topics that he obviously felt was wrong.
Anyways, left or right, the most common way to debate issues is not always discussing the actualy statements or the facts at hand...
