oxygen8 vs evolution 449c

is the evolution worth the 70$ extra?
ive seen the funcionality with the faders and the keys and all (which will help me)
im mostly worried about durability of the two.

discuss gentlemen

I've been looking around for controllers like these too.

A better comparison would be the Evolution 449C to the Radium49. The Evolution just has buttons, and can save and recall different settings, plus some other stuff.

I've also been looking at the Kork microKontrol and Novation ReMOTE 25, but they're much more expensive and only have 2 octaves

I suggest you go to yer local guitar center and play with both. Personally, I used to have an oxy8. It fell all apart, a couple of the keys pop up higher than the rest now, it's just a cheap piece of kit. I bought an Evolution mk461c and the thing just *feels* better to me. less like a toy. but evolution is a division of m-audio, so it's not like you're comparing different companies. so if it costs more, it probably is better. is it seventy bux wortha better? well, when yer Oxygen Ate falls apart a week after the waranty expires, like mine, and you have to buy a whole new controller anyway, you may be wishing you had spent the extra 70 bux then instead of the extra couple hundred now. not to start a flame war (you always have to say that on this site because if you say you like something then you probably will...), I'm sure there's lotsa peoples who love their oxygen8s

if you want a midi controller i sugest you get radium49 or radium61 because they have 49 and 61 keys. oxygen has fewer keys and it's more suitable for dj-ing/live stuff/triggering samples.

I have a radium49 and it really makes the money i paid for it.

Is the extra octave of the 61 worth the extra $50 or so?

Depends what you plan on playing. If your just gonna make melodies and such, the 49 keys is good enough.
I have the radium61 and i usually play within the 49 keys.

the purpose of the keyboard for me is liveact controller,, the number of keys doesnt affect my decision in the slightest.
