Many of you may remember a small project that came together, for the most part, on the TA forums. It was agreed upon that the primary intention of the site would be to provide articles related to trance production to the community. This idea was then manifested into what is now http://www.tranceproduction.com
Some of you (hopefully not many) remember it during its creation stages. It experienced some very difficult times but I'm afraid to say that it is currently facing its most difficult.
As stated on the main page of TranceProduction.com, the primary problem is:
quote:
"The community" basically refused to contribute to it. We got plenty of "oh that's a great idea!" but very little "I'll be glad to contribute." Even with the small amount of people who did promise a contribution, only 1/4 of them actually did anything.
My friends... "the community" is you. Eric and myself are willing to give this project a new beginning, so to speak, and this new beginning can be you. We need producers... but more than that we need writers. Writers that are as dedicated to this project as Eric and myself.
If you can produce AND/OR write, I URGE you to get in contact with me.
quote:
I was reading your latest update on the tranceproduction.com website, and I'd hate to see TranceProduction.com go... its a great resource for beginners such as myself.
A solid fan base is there and this project has proven to be a valuable asset to a countless number of people. I urge you to become a part of it not only for yourself, but for the betterment of the trance community.
Ahhh, forget about it, people only want to receive, not to give...

Mr mystery's percussion topic is something great for the site IMO. Ask if you may use it?
ALso what do you need? presets? or Reason, cubase, fl etc files? or what?

I offered to contribute but then never got around to it; I don't feel the need to get into reasons why, but they were good reasons =P
I'll try to throw some stuff together in the future though, have been meaning to do some tutorial or another again soon.

There is a slew of information available in the posts and threads of TranceAddict, Trance.nu, DI.FM, FutureProducers.com and many more. One thing we could really use is a couple scourers. Someone who goes through the forums, looks for useful posts/threads, and gets in contact with the original writer for permission to use it.
Doing this alone could produce dozons of very useful articles. Main problem is that there is a a lot more not-so-useful things on forums than useful.
I got two or three guides in the works (in the same style as those that are already on the side, so pretty technical, one is about aux/insert usage), but I got a job, and come home in the late hours of the day, and besides I still am a mod for Futureproducers. So I hope you understand that I'm not always going to have time to work on guides.

It isn't just you, Thy. Don't worry.
But the community really appreciates the guide you gave us. I got a lot of positive feedback about it.

I've been more into acid jazz production recently, but I'd be happy to continue helping in other areas if you're interested. I know that I was going to write a monthly column dissecting a trance piece, but like I said I've kind of strayed from the genre a little. If I can help in other ways (like theory), let me know.
