Idea Am I even close to getting it right???

Well I've been attempting trance production for about a year now, keyword attempting, I used to just throw a track together and think it was cool but now that I've been visiting the site and seeing what others can do and learning from you guys I've taken the production to the next level, until last week I didn't use any compression or EQ to my song, so I'm still experimenting with that, well I know that the bassline and the kick are the two trickest to EQ so I threw a 2 track piece together added some reverb, compression and EQ to the bass and then I added Compression and EQ to the Kiok, tell me what could be right or is it good?

Listened to both samples.

To both samples:

You need to put down the volume on the bassline because the kick is a bit low. It won't help to raise the kick volume, if you do, it will probibly peak. So just put down the bass volume.

Also, the bass sound muddy. Maybe you can try to put down the decay and the sustain on the sound.

I ain't that good on equilizing but maybe you need to cut some frequencys so that the kick can breath.

I hope you will understand what I mean, ain't that good in english.

I'm not very good at production, but I think the kick could still use some punch, try layering another kick over it?

Making the kick sound good is one of the hardest parts for sure! Sounds like you need to compress the kick more, adding some gain to it. It's a little thin, so subtle boost in the lower freqs would maybe result nice.. If everything else failes, try layering it wil another kick that has more dynamics to it!

Sounds good, I did realize one thing though, I've played the song through Windows media player, sounds the best through that, I use FLSTudio, the Kick is really loud, and in Winamp, it's all sorts of messed up. i'll see what I can do, I won't stop till I get it right.
