HIV & AIDs "treatment"

i dont often post in here, but this REALLY got my goat..

http://www.shirleys-wellness-cafe.com/drugs.htm

there was a tv program about it over here, talking about the problems families face in the US. those drugs (ritilin) in the article are not the medications involved, but it is a very similar reaction by the government, and there is a small amount about something similar if you scroll down.

there is a "treatment" for HIV positive children.

it has a stupidly large amount of adverse affects, and funnily enough patients actually get better and have less HIV related illnesses when they stop the treatment. yet the US government's child protection agency will take your kid away if you don't give them this drug which stunts growth and is highly toxic. the agency has removed a child from the care of his grandparents (parents died of AIDs) because they wouldn't give him this drug, paying a foster family $6000 per month to "look after" the child and make sure he has the drug.

a survey also concluded that if you were a white family, you would not have any where near the amount of hassle from the child protection agency. but if you were black, hispanic, or native american (particularly those living in slums and projects) you will have your kid taken away.

there are also homes for orphaned HIV positive children, and if the child refuses the medicine, they go ahead and pump the shit directly into the child's stomach. in EVERY CASE on the program, when the medication wa stopped, the HIV positive child got better. there was one case, where one of the nurses in one of these homes saw how it benifited when they didn't take the medicine. she quit her job, and fostered one particular little girl. the girl had been on the medication since early childhood, she could not speak and could not walk. she took the girl off the medication, and payed thousands for the best physio and speech therapists, and within a year she was speaking and walking. the child protection agency found out she was not taking the medication, and took the girl away from her and put her back on it.

this is supposedly research, which they have been doing for years, into a drug that is supposed "help" HIV and AIDs.

what the fuck. surely this is a breach of human rights? has anyone else seen or heard about this? it sounds more like the government is trying to kill off these children.

just to clear up, this is the important part of the article:

100 GUINEA-PIG KIDS - SHOCKING NEW NUMBER IN HIV TESTS
By Douglas Montero

February 29, 2004 -- The state Health Department has launched a probe into potentially dangerous drug research conducted on HIV-infected infants and children at a Manhattan foster-care agency, The Post has
learned. Some 50 foster kids were used as "guinea pigs" in 13 experiments with high doses of AIDS medications at Manhattan's Incarnation Children's Center, sources said.

Most of the ICC experiments were funded by federal grants and in some cases, pharmaceutical companies. They used city foster children, who were sent to the Catholic Archdiocese-run facility by the Administration
for Children's Services. ICC was involved in 36 different experiments, according to the National Institutes of Health Web site. One study researched "HIV Wasting Syndrome," which studied how a child's body changes when his medication is altered. A handful of the experiments involved combining up to six AIDS drugs - so-called "cocktails" - in children as young as 3 months, and another explores the reaction of not one, but two doses of the measles vaccine in kids ages 6 to 7 months.

Other studies tested the "safety," "tolerance" and "toxicity" of AIDS drugs. "They are torturing these kids, and it is nothing short of murder," said Michael Ellner, a minister and president of Health Education AIDS Liaison, an advocacy group for HIV parents. Biochemist Dr. David Rasnick, a visiting scholar at the University of California at Berkeley and an expert in AIDS medication, was outraged because the drugs, alone or combined, have "acute toxicity which could be fatal." He said the drugs' side effects include severe liver damage, cancerous tumors, severe anemia, muscle wasting, severe and life-threatening rashes and "buffalo hump," where fatty tissues accumulate behind the neck.

a couple links you may find interesting

Hi. I'm not going to subject myself to any debating because after the election season i am all debated out. but in relation to the HIV/AIDS issue, i highly recommend that anyone read christine maggiore's book "What if everything you knew about AIDS was wrong". she dismantles the orthodoxy piece by piece, with a scholarship seldom found in "mainstream" AIDS literature. the book can be read for free at:

www.aliveandwell.org

another site that has covered this, and some of the issues with forced medication of orphaned and foster children is runby veteran journalist jon rappaport:

www.nomorefakenews.com

i am not sure i can endorse all of his conclusions on every issue, but he seems to be rocksolid here.

that is all.

Dude, any sort of a reasonable and/or intelligible dialect is more than welcome here - at least I know it is in regards to us centrist libertarians!

More than just a handful of us know of the attrocities committed on a daily basis, but our voices are only so loud. It's hard to get the world involved when there are so many other things going on at the same time.

It's more than just a tough fight, but help us lead the way!!!

Thanks for the links. I will look into the first one when I get a chance, maybe next week.

It's sad to see or read about some of the activities that harm children and people in general. It shouldn't happen.
