hmm Virgil's BBQ is madd good (near Times Square) and Bubba Gump is actually not too expensive <-- Forrest Gump themed restaurant, obviously. But expect crowds.

Go right across the street to Saks, on the 8th floor... Cafe SFA. It can be alittle pricey, the food is pretty good, i think its mostly organic stuff.

there's a really good indian place between 6th and 7th avenues on forty something street, in the relatively high forties (47th maybe?). i wish i could remember the name of it, and i'd give you that as a place to go.
there's also rosie o'grady's saloon (i think that's the right name) on 7th ave and 52nd street. it's a little bit pricey (expect to spend around $15 + tax and tip for lunch, probably a bit more for dinner), but the fries are to die for, and all the food is delicious. one of my best friends took me there for a late birthday lunch last week.
