What is file sharing?

i could almost guarentee that no edm labels or artists were probably in this 'survey'

Artists barely make any money off of album/record sales anyway. The bulk of their income is generated from live appearances (TV, radio, etc.) and performances. The sad thing is, most people are easily taken-in by record companies.

EDM has a hard time with file sharing because for one, they struggle to sell records, and two, many people will just download the MP3 instead of buying the record.

And the labels don't make really anything to begin with, so when people are pirating mass amounts of their music, it really hurts them.

But when you look at HUGE labels, for instance, BMG, they make so much money, then piracy doesn't really affect them at all.

You just have to look at it from different perspectives. If it wasn't for filesharing, I probably wouldn't know much about EDM.

I purchase CDs and Vinyls on a constant basis, becuase if you don't, then the scene won't stay alive.

yea i agree, if it wasn't for filesharing where the hell would i be able to know about and hear all these awesome tracks?

i've recently begun to buy CDs, it's become pretty addicting. and as for vinyl... the addiction there is ooh so true
