This track is very different in style than what I usually make. I spent alot of time working the sounds for the breakdown, and wanted to give it a very atmospheric feel.

sounds really good man. very solid production all around.

rarely do you find strings and pads that arent super synthetic sounding. really like the synths in the breakdown, beautiful.

that kick reeks of reason, but im not convinced thats what you used.

personally i would have liked the tune to be more hi-energy in general. but its sounds nice as is.

Err, well anyways:

The tune seems to be fighting itself, in the sense that the atmosphere is pushing it in one direction, while the supersaw is attempting to go in the opposite direction - ambience vs. energy.

I would have taken the reverb off the snare and made it harder, and added in some more percussions (one or two more elements) to go along with the breakbeat so it's more interesting.

I think I know what you mean Tranc3, I made this tune over 2 days and usually when I do something in a short period of time it's hard to get a real sense of the song (because of the initial attachment to it). After listening to it abit more, I think that the main melody/lead should be changed abit. The track actually started out as hard trance, and I eventually changed it completely, but the supersaw I kept. I'll work on that aspect of the song.

(oh and I'm back, after a year or so off of tranceaddict, I slowed my music production for awhile but now I'm right back into it. I've got a couple new tracks that I'll be posting up in awhile, more of my classic hard trance/energy style!)

wow i really like your kick , nice fxs and atmosphere has your track, but at 2:35 when that melodie comes hmm i would use different sound for it more deep, overall nice track there is not so many breaks tracks here so they are always welcome

I made some changes to the track, based on some of the comments you guys made, and just what I felt would make the track flow smoother overall.

Please feel free to continue posting your comments, they really do help in my production process, and I will continue to revise the track until it is perfect for my album.

Much better, although it lacks an overall sense of flow....specifically going from the beginning into the breakdown (1), and then from the breakdown into the main part of the tune (2).

1) There doesn't seem to be much in terms of a musical progression, that is, the breakdown is almost unexpected and a bit jarring because of it.

2) When you have the percussions play for one bar and then stop (4 times total), that tends to confuse the listener - it becomes harder to tell when the tune is going to pick up full swing. Then the addition of the supersaw along with the percussion and the bass drops and whatnot really creates for more of a confusing atmosphere than anything else, at least at first.

I typically try not to tell people what to do with their tunes, just what I think of them, but I have an idea on how to "fix" this - that is, if you even see it as broken.

I would slowly introduce the supersaw in some form before the percussions - maybe with a different synth (but the same notes, so the theme is there), maybe with low --> high volume, low cutoff ---> high cutoff, etc... If you wanted to keep the percussions coming in that early before they really come in full swing, I would start them off at the same relative point (that is, 8 bars before they really come in). However, instead of playing the full loop and interrupting it, I would either [play just the low-frequency elements, or the high-frequency elements], or [play the loop continuously for the 8 bars, but with a (HP filter that slowly lets in the lower frequencies) / (LP filter that slowly lets in the upper frequencies)]. Maybe a drum fill on the last bar.

Alright Tranc3 I know what you mean. I'll work on the whole entering/exiting the breakdown, to create a smoother ride for the listener.

Already I think that these comments have helped make the track stronger.

I like it. I think it is different than alot of other things being produced now.That defenitely makes it standout. Good work!
