Intro synths are nice
could progress a little quicker and with more impact
Kick is okay by needs eq'ing
Bass is way to weak for this style.
Have to say I don't like the saw pads, too mechanical

There's some good elements here but they need reworking. You also lack a breakdown. If you made a few changes and restructured the track to include a breakdown (or 2) where the lead is introduced with a tense build this could be great.

Keep at it!

PS are you aware that the file you have for download is 8:03 long, leaving 1:32 of silence once the track has finished?!

Hey Fitzpatrick,

Interesting take on a sweet tune from the past!

Percs have lots of energy, though they could benefit from a little variation.
The kick sounds a bit distored, but I am listening through headphones right now - that might be why.

Bass is driving but very quiet in the mix.

I'd like to hear some use of filters on the saws to add intensity to the song as it progress.

Overall nice job - respect for trying something different here!
Trevor

thanks for the replys...

i was going for a more simple sound with this track... the intro and ending are ment to be real simple so you can drop this track easy in a mix...

Nice synths in the intro.

I'm not really one to rag on repetition, but you've been going nearly a minute with very little variation. At least do some stuff with percs.

Your lead synth seems kinda out of place in terms of the tempo for some reason, and the reverb on it is a little to ringy for my tastes. You also jump right into the melody right after a minute of nothing happening. That's bad form.

Your percs in general have a long way to go. Boom tss tshh tss will only get you so far when writing trance.

Not a bad idea. I love Neverending story. (I only like the first one. The subsequent ones are examples of the unfortunate side effects of capitalism.) It's nice to hear the story getting a nod in the realm of trance.

hellow,

It's been a very long time since i've seen the movie so I did'nt know what the melody sounded like anymore.
But I recognize it from somewhere else. I'm almost certain that somebody has made a trancy track before with this melody...
I just can't remember the artist and title right now.

anyone else feels the same?
