Let me make this all as very clear as I can:
-Yes I do use CDRs. So do most of the headliners these days. Let the record be clear that this makes the challenge of mixing no more or less difficult than using vinyl.
-NO I do not, nor will I ever, use MP3s downloaded from any file-sharing website, MP3s sent from friends, or any kind of MP3. Reason being...MP3s sound horrible over a large system. There is a scienitific reason why, but I wont bore you with the details unless you really want to bore you with the details. That and the most of true online music pirates havent got a clue on how to properly rip a CD much less a vinyl.
My music largely comes from single CDs I order online, wherever they can be found. The unreleased tracks come from the labels upon request. I do from time to time obtain the tracks by taking a record a friend owns, and properly recording the signal from the vinyl in a manner that preserves the audio. I do in fact own one technics 1200 M3 with a blue ortofon needle in my home studio, I dunno how anyone could have told you otherwise..seeing as the only people outside of my family that have been in my room...WERE HOES. And they weren't in my room for anything relating to the music.
True, I don't have the budget to purchase vinyl, but I dont like to simply play other peoples tracks. I mainly got into this for the music production aspect of it, more accurately reworking and remastering the tracks to change their feel to suit my tastes. Sometimes I don't like the way the bassline sounds in relation to the track so I rework it with a bassline I wrote myself using a programs such as Cubase, Sonar, T-Racks, and when I am at school (HCC Town & Country for the audio engineering associates degree) I use their facilities which include Logic 6, the latest Pro-Tools HD with an ass load of plug-ins , and a big ass SSL 4048 console that I have on occasion used to make the mixes you hear on my website. I am aslo seeking to produce my own tracks and will be finishing them very shortly. Bottom line is...I dont have the ability to pirnt all my re-edits, remixes, and productions on vinyl, and nowadays I rarely play unaltered tracks because I am constantly looking for ways I can improve the track before playing it out at a gig. Whether an actual improvement is made or not...thats subjective, but it does help me add a personal touch.
Now..with all of that said. Why do I feel like you are trying to attack my credibilty? who exactly have you been talking to?..and who are THEY buying their drugs from? And last of all...
is MATTHIAS really that hard to spell..or pronouce(short A, long I, short A...emphasis on the second syllable..first and 3rd are passive....i dunno, havent took english in a while) But I mean the name is over 2000 years old. The Europeans pronouce the "I" in the second syllable with a long E sound if you want to say it that way...but anyways..
