Throughout human history, as our species has faced the frightening, terrorizing fact that we do not know who we are, or where we are going in this ocean of chaos, it has been the authorities, the political, the religious, the educational authorities who attempted to comfort us by giving us order, rules, regulations, informing, forming in our minds their view of reality. To think for yourself you must question authority and learn how to put yourself in a state of vulnerable, open-mindedness; chaotic, confused, vulnerability to inform yourself. - Timothy Leary

who's Mathius? most of its sent to me, the rest of it I order online wherever its sold.

Chemistry and Atomic have good selections and seeing as tranceision now runs chemistry I wouldnt be surprised if they could hook up whatever you are looking for.

1. Some ppl give out CDR Promos.
2. Some ppl record music on to cd.

I'm pretty sure Matthias has other methods, but i don't know any (or can't say) of them to my knowledge.

I'm on vinyl right now, but I'm going to change to cd over the next couple of months. I'll still hang on to vinyl or maybe even get some now and then.

well I know for a fact that almost every record pool out there asks where you have a residency and to my knowledge he doesnt play anywhere in houston regularly *because of the fact that he dls his music from what I've been told *. So why would they send him promos if he RARELY ever plays out? I mean I'm just curious. Its not like he plays every week somewhere here in houston *which from what I understand is where he lives* and is kind of a basic requirement of record pools. I mean why would they send him promos if he has no regular gig to play them and get them heard? I mean I'm just curious

Matthias does not download music (mp3's) and use it for his gigs. He often rips vinyl’s to wav files then burns it onto a cd (legally)

Rips vinyl to wavs? How does he do this if he doesnt even own vinyl turntables or BUY vinyl? well anyway, whatever YOU've heard, he's told people here in H-town a different story. Maybe you should ask him why he rareley gets booked in his own home town that might be the case. I mean from what I hear he has straight up admitted to dling stuff. But I live in Houston so I hear more than you prolly do. do you live in houston? I mean I know we are the hater capitol of the world so I can cut him some slack, but the few people I've talked to that have actually seen him play have told me he straightup ONLY plays CD-Rs or whatever like literally NO vinyl AT all. I mean his taste in music is dope, there is no denying that, but I just aint down with the whole pirating music and then promoting yourself as a true-blu dj ya know? thas just me.

Let me make this all as very clear as I can:

-Yes I do use CDRs. So do most of the headliners these days. Let the record be clear that this makes the challenge of mixing no more or less difficult than using vinyl.

-NO I do not, nor will I ever, use MP3s downloaded from any file-sharing website, MP3s sent from friends, or any kind of MP3. Reason being...MP3s sound horrible over a large system. There is a scienitific reason why, but I wont bore you with the details unless you really want to bore you with the details. That and the most of true online music pirates havent got a clue on how to properly rip a CD much less a vinyl.

My music largely comes from single CDs I order online, wherever they can be found. The unreleased tracks come from the labels upon request. I do from time to time obtain the tracks by taking a record a friend owns, and properly recording the signal from the vinyl in a manner that preserves the audio. I do in fact own one technics 1200 M3 with a blue ortofon needle in my home studio, I dunno how anyone could have told you otherwise..seeing as the only people outside of my family that have been in my room...WERE HOES. And they weren't in my room for anything relating to the music.

True, I don't have the budget to purchase vinyl, but I dont like to simply play other peoples tracks. I mainly got into this for the music production aspect of it, more accurately reworking and remastering the tracks to change their feel to suit my tastes. Sometimes I don't like the way the bassline sounds in relation to the track so I rework it with a bassline I wrote myself using a programs such as Cubase, Sonar, T-Racks, and when I am at school (HCC Town & Country for the audio engineering associates degree) I use their facilities which include Logic 6, the latest Pro-Tools HD with an ass load of plug-ins , and a big ass SSL 4048 console that I have on occasion used to make the mixes you hear on my website. I am aslo seeking to produce my own tracks and will be finishing them very shortly. Bottom line is...I dont have the ability to pirnt all my re-edits, remixes, and productions on vinyl, and nowadays I rarely play unaltered tracks because I am constantly looking for ways I can improve the track before playing it out at a gig. Whether an actual improvement is made or not...thats subjective, but it does help me add a personal touch.

Now..with all of that said. Why do I feel like you are trying to attack my credibilty? who exactly have you been talking to?..and who are THEY buying their drugs from? And last of all...

is MATTHIAS really that hard to spell..or pronouce(short A, long I, short A...emphasis on the second syllable..first and 3rd are passive....i dunno, havent took english in a while) But I mean the name is over 2000 years old. The Europeans pronouce the "I" in the second syllable with a long E sound if you want to say it that way...but anyways..
