Re: Starting the next record

Hi,
I want to know when do you actually start the 2nd record (while the 1st record is stil playing). It is beatmatched, i understand bars (4 beats), then 4 bars is a phrase. Do you start your next record on the 8th bar or the 16th bar? Cheers. |
radders, to answer ur question (which no one really did)
each phrase is usually every 8 bars (32 beats) or 16 bars (64 beats). really depends on the track. some tracks have the melody or elements in the track that repeat every 8 bars, some are for every 16 bars. however, u'll find that even tho melodies sometime repeat every 8 bars, the really big buildups with main effects, etc., come on every 16. if u time the records right, usually starting the record on every 16th bar will have good sounding results with the effects, and entrances of melodies coming in at the right time. but sometimes u'll find that the melodies/effects will become messy because either the outro and intro sounds are overlapping, starting the incoming record 8 bars later can usually clear up the messiness of sounds while mixing records. this becomes especially useful if u are mixing out of tracks early while it is still towards the middle of the track. hope this info helps.
