Technics RP-DH1200

Before you tell me to look into headphone thread, I already have. I did not find an answer.

Now here's a question. How good they are durability-wise? I got a pair from guitar center. My friend who DJ's a lot and holds multiple residencies, said that they are pretty durable, since he is always rough with them and bends them into various shapes on his head, lol.

I just want to make sure what he's saying is correct. Any of you had any experience with them?

I owned a pair and really really liked them. They were real light and minimal compared to most headphones. I brought them to work oner night and snagged the chord on a counter and the sound just stopped working after that. Not sure why and if its fixable. But I liked them.

They are not light headphones, but they are the most durable that I have come across. Some people complain they are too heavy, but i like 'em.

Uhhhhhhhh...are you sure you're not talking about rpdJ1200s? Because the rpdH1200s are the heaviest phones I've ever used in my life.

I was referring to the older Technics model...not the clunky new ones that look exactly like Sonys. oops

I would not say that they're heavy. I tried both HDJ-1000 and RPDH-1200. Weigh about the same for me.

yeah, its funny you should say that. I just went to Guitar Center to buy a new pair of headphones and it was between the new Techs and the Pioneers. I told the guy who worked there that I was afraid the Techs were gonna be heavy because thats what people say and he took them out and let me hold them...no heavier than the hdjs and the pioneers are light IMO...lighter than the 700's anyway. They had a real clunky awkward feel to them though.

I tried wearing both. Felt the same. I got them for 99 bux. (friends work there).

Weighed them against my Senns 280 Pro. Techs are slightly heavier.
