[Uplifting/tech trance] Convergence - Freeway

My first tune of 2005 (well, started it in December but whatever )

It's kinda a mixture between driving tech-trance and soft melodies, going from one to the other. I hope it works well, I tried to be more original than just the standard trance structure, and also composing it from start to end to make things a bit more interesting (works for me, anyway...)

It's probably my favourite tune I've made so far, I like to think I've done a decent job with mixing and so on, sounding more 'pro' than my previous efforts, and has more of the energy I aim for...

"Freeway' crap name, I know

Not mastered yet, might still be making improvements.

Tell me what you think...

the contrast between the acid line and the pads is great
although i reckon the pads could do a bit more than two chords
the melody coming in around 3:20 is good, but could be better
i love the clap + acid line at 4:50 that sounds excellent
the hats sound really nice IMO
this tune has great potential!

Graet tune Simon.

Quite original and like Pho, i like the transitions with the acidline and pads.

Like i said, make the bass a tad stronger, further it's an enjobyle tune for me

Yeh, the acid suddenly coming out of the pads is a really neat effect.

The new synth at around 2:30 could probably be more well-defined.

Cool tune. Finish it up.

kick and bass are clapping a bit at some points when i raise the volume. I like your hihats, i dont like that phasing perc from the start, those pads are a bit boring. Nice acid lead. I wonder why u let the pad fade out all of a suddne in the intro and then all of a sudden it comes back again. Clap could have more release, or a clearer release at least. There isnt happening much in the intro...pad comes in and goes...dont really like the structure. Break now...that phasing perc is really annoying and the pads really need variation. The lead sound thats coming up now sounds a bit thin and is to much panned to the left. Would be nice to have that lead have a panned delay to the right then. Then the kick comes again, no real climax...just rolls on, nothing to special...

As said, track has potential, but some elements dont fit with each other, i have the feeling that im listening two different tunes when all of a sudden that acid comes again...your transitions arent great and some of your sounds get very repetetive. Potential, but needs work.

I agree with most of the above, acid effect is really nice. You've got excellent transitions going in this track.

I'm not fond of the main melody. The synth rocks, but the main melody I don't think fits any of the track and it doesn't harmonize well with the pads.

You know your stuff for sure, this track just needs more work melodically and it could be amazing. Nice work.
