Well first off, I'm stoked you tuned in, hope you enjoyed as much of the set as possible.
Setlist is as follows:
1. White Room - Someday (Instrumental)
2. Peter Martin/Anthanasia - Perfect Wave (Oahu Breaks Dub)
3. Austin Leeds & Kobbes - Fusion Love (Markus Schulz Mix)
4. Solid Globe - North Pole
5. Endre - Kallocain (Robert Nickson Mix)
6. Ficta - Eli (James Zabiela's Rave Lizard Mix)
7. Underworld - Two Months Off
8. Angel City - Do You Know? (Cor Fijneman Remix)
9. Super 8 - Alba (Original Mix)
I will be posting an MP3 of the mix sometime tomorrow, so if you enjoyed it you'll be able to check that out. It was a good night for me, which means a few errors, none too major, but all in all I feel good about the night. Thanks to anyone who tuned in.
And DJ Dank Poo: So good to see another Phish/Dead head on TA, I knew I couldn't be the only one! Ever try dropping "First Tube" into a prog set? Good times can be had...
Anywho, thanks again, Cheers,
RJT

Had a few problems with the recording, nothing major, just didn't do a good job of paying attention to my laptop while it waws recording and the right channel has some volume problems, I'm going to fix them tonight sometime and Groovejunk told me he'd have no problem posting for me (Thanks again BTW!) if I got him the details.
I'd look for it within the next day or two, but it could be longer with school.
As far as Phish and the Dead go, which tours did you do? I did '98 and '00 Phish Summer tours, best times of my life. I really think it's very easy to be a fan of EDM and Jambands at the same time because in reality, it's all about going out for a night of dancing and having a good time.
I've been spinning on Vinyl for about 4 years now, but after having one of my SL1200MKII's die last semester I picked up the CDJ's, only been on them about a month. I like them, and I like using the vinyl/CD combo. There are good advantages to both, and I don't see all the pitfalls everyone else sees in the CD v. Vinyl debate, so I'm happy.
And finally, as far as the radio station goes, should be a weekly thing, I'll post exacts when I get into it, but right now we're trying to work out a Friday night 2 hour block from 10-12 where I'd spin about 60-75 minutes and have a guest mix for the last hour, either live in studio or something that one of you TA's gives me.
In any event, stay tuned, and thanks for listening/the encouragement, and making it through a ridiculously long post.
Peace, Cheers,
RJT

right on, let me know when its available for download. i'm usually up late on monday night so i'll be tuning in. i hope you get plenty of support and listeners from peeps at your school there too, i'm not sure what the scene is like in wisco. on my college station they put the EDM DJs on at like 1-3am friday night (satuday morning) which i guess they figured was dead air time but it turned out to be just the opposite... everyone was tuning in. happy to see other college stations are supporting EDM as well
as far as phish goes... 98' was a great year! it was right between their 70's funk jam period (97) and their spaced out techno jam period (99). i saw my first show at a pretty young age when they came to cleveland state university in december of 95. i really didn't have any clue what i was getting into, i just went along with my cousin because he was older than me and he could get me in places. after that i was hooked, it was such a new and unique experience as far as music and the community surrounding it goes. 4 years and a bunch of shows later i did my first tour in the summer of 99, which was also my first year in college. I must say that definitely changed my life. Its weird how I can remember the exact emotions and jams that I felt from each show to this day. And I know exactly what you are talking about when you say its easy to be a fan of EDM and Jambands at the same time. I didn't hear any EDM until i was 4 years deep in the phish / jamband scene, but I had such a love for music by then it was easy for me to appreciate the EDM scene. It brought a lot of the same vibes to the table as the phish scene did. Anyways, I would have to say my favourite years are 99' first off and then 94', which was a very very tight year for them. if you need any shows, i have a bunch on my PC, just let me know. if you haven't listened to 7-23-99 (incredible ghost -> free -> 23 min birds of a feather), 6-18-94 (UIC pavillion in chicago), or 6-11-94 (red rocks ampitheatre) you should really check them out, those are among my favourite shows. Ok, well you thought your message is long... this is getting out of control... I really hope them come back and play some shows, did you make it to the last festival in coventry, vermont?
btw... never got to see the dead, i was too young. all i can do is collect their shows and video's and appreciate what they did for music at that time.
also, if you are ever planning on filling a time slot on the station with a DJ mix please feel free to ask me... I have all kinds of mixes and I would love to share... prog house to trance to dnb, i have mixes of all sorts. just let me know!
keep up the groovy mixes, i'll be tuned in!
