Hi all, im back again...

A small story for you all... actually a 2 in 1 combo...

About 2 weeks ago a couple of friends together with my girlfriend and I headed to the beach, cut a long story short, she tripped on those slipper rocks... and bumped the side of her ankle/inside the arch of her foot. Anyways apparently theres a little bone always there... not that i had ever needed to notice that...

So that was abit inflammed and its been bugging her alittle bit... im wondering... the slight swelling she has... how long would that take to heal? considering she might have bumped it quite hard on the rocks.... but its not broken, cause i know for sure she woulnd't be able to take a single step.

On another note, are doctors in other nations as rude as night time doctors? or day time doctors as well? This guy just listened to her story and didn't give a rats arse... he just kept on repeating... "hmmm.. yes... yes.... go on... hmmm..." without any eye contact at all.... until i said hey did you see where she's pointing... then he got the idea and his common sense started to kick in...

Might as well be a phone doctor... listen to ppl all day and give out paracetamol..... grrrr... how rude is that....

Anyone have similar stories about doctors? Or any advice on how long her inflammation will go on for (its been 2 weeks and it looks a tiny bit swollen, just abit).

Doctor's are a joke from what I've seen.

I remember my favorite thing when I was a teen was the doctor reassuring me that eating MickyD's wasn't going to give me zits. 'Acne is normal in teens, diet has nothing to do with it'.

What a quack. I wasn't too fond of the groin examinations either. And if I was a chick I'd definitely tell the gyno to ef himself. Check out your own equipment.

Doctors here in Canada are a joke.I had a problem with my foot last year.Lost some feeling in it.I went to a doctor told him what the problem was ,.He told me to come back in a week so he can give me a reference letter to another doctor..So 2 weeks later I get the letter and the appointment isnt for another 2 weeks with the specalist.Then I got to the specalist ..He sends me to a hospital ,,because he doesnt have the equipment to examine my foot.So another 2 weeks later i get to see the hospital guy..he examines me..tells me to go back to the specalist..because thats where he will send the results of my tests.I go back to specalist..And he has the nerve to tell me that there is nothing wrong with my foot..And if there ever was he can do nothing about it.So 2 month later they tell me that there is nothing wrong..

Bunch of fuck ups. I should of listened to my dad ..when he said just wait it out ..It will go away.

If there was one thing I would change about the world it would be how our medical system is structured.

Doctors, medical centres, hospitals, should be places where we go to feel better. There is nothing at all about the approach in these places that makes me want to go there when I feel unwell, or makes me feel better after I've gone.

When you go to see a doctor it is so clinical, more about what drugs you get given, and much less about actually making you feel better.

If you go to a doctor with some stress problems he or she should prescribe a weekend away out of town or a massage, not valium.

When is the last time a doctor gave someone a hug?

When is the last time a doctor wrote you out a shopping list to eat healthy for a couple weeks?

When is the last time a doctor told you to spend more time with your family?

Most health problems are closely related to your state of mind and I believe that if you have a total approach to life you will be much healthier, and our medical system needs to be totally reformed if it actually wants to start making people feel better, like it is supposed to.

bacl on topic, it sounds like a bad sprain.

You go to a doctor they will organise x-rays which will probably prove that they can't see what is wrong, and a bad sprain can take anywhere from 4 - 8 weeks to get better.

Try rest, ice, a compression bandage and keeping it elevated.

If you do go to a doctor try and get some Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatories, they work best.

I would say that the medical system here is fked up.

P.S. If you got a flu..drink lots of fluids and stay the hell away from a clinic.

The medical system is wayyy too overrated... too much $$$ to these doctors..... they get a commission each time they get u a pill from the pill companies....

Yep, doctors are just overpriced self-important windbags.

Good advice: learn first-aid and live healthy, and don't go see doctors unless you have no choice.
