Ferry is GOD!!
Hey TA's,
I'd just like to let you know that i had the night of my life Friday night thanks to none other than Ferry Corsten. I had been wating for this event for over a month and the watiing paid off. I had about 10 beam & colas and then was ready to hit the dance floor.
First up was Anthony Pappa, some Australian guy who is meant to be heaps good, i never heard of him anyway. He played progressive house which i didn;t really like that much but enjoyed dancing to none the less.
Well then came Ferry. While the crowd here in Adelaide is rather ignorant towards trance geniuses such as Ferry, it seemed i was the only one cheering. To be honest, Ferry started off playing pretty shit progressive. 30 mins into the set the crowd started actually realising the quality that FErry was pumping out and gradually got into it. He then played this cracker set, well these are the songs i've so far recognised anyway, in order of appearence:
DHS - The House Of God (Azzido Da Bass Remix)
Vaiio - Rapture (riva remix)
System F - Needlejuice
Ocean Lab - Clear Blue Water (ferry corsten remix)
Jose Amnesia - The Eternal (pulser remix)
Veracocha - Carte Blanche (original 12" mix)
Push - The Legacy (orginal mix)
System F - Dance Valley Theme 2001
Gouryella - Tenshi (extended version)
All of these songs went crazy!! In particular, the crowd went fanatical during carte blanche (what a classic!) and Dance Valley Theme 2001. He also closed with Tenshi, what a way to finish! I was right up the front for the last 75% of his set, and was dancing no more than 3 metres away from the man himself! It was great cos i could recognise the songs as soon as i heard the beat and the bass, so i started cheering for the song way before everyone else. Cos i was up the front, Ferry could tell that i knew the song he was playing right before everyone else, and he smiled at me as i was dancing and cheering my arse off. And then when Carte Blanche was about to start its main melody/riff for the second time (theres a big buildup), he stopped the music, raised his hands up for the crowd to go crazy, and then started playing again! Unbelievable! And he was always getting the crowd involved which was great to see.
Then after his set i went up and shook his hand and got him to sighn this ministry of sound poster that they were throwing into the crowd. It's now laminated and hanging on my wall....what a momento!! I will never forget the great night i had, which is all thanks to one man, FERRY CORSTEN!!
