Best DJ in the World?

I know someone is going to get pissed about the subject of this post. I really havent listened to to many djs in my short life of listening to trance. What I want to know is....

I know that Tiesto listed as number 1. But how many of you actually think that he is number 1. I believe so because he was awesome live. His mixing has been slipping (my opinion)from his Magik and ISOS days but I believe it is still good.

I have been listening to PVD as of late and his mixing, I believe, is right on the mark.

Who do you think is number one?

If you dont like the subject, Just dont post. I am trying to get a feel for what people really think. I dont want to hear about how stupid I was for posing this question. I tried doing a search but I didnt come up with an answer for my question.

I've listened to trance since 93-94 and to all the big djs and I can without cheating myself say that most of the DJs that once was good today are very poor. Tiesto, Paul van Dyk, Paul Oakenfold etc. It's very sad since they used to push forward the whole scene. Today most of their sets are filled with poor tracks without anything cool.

When it comes to trancemusic there are very few djs today which catches my attention. One of them is John 00 Fleming. He never plays a boring set. Always top stuff from beginning to the end.

Best DJ in the world? Ya never know. Of the ones I know, I'm gonna have to go by the lines of Laurent Garnier, James Zabiela, and a few others... Sasha you can't really call a DJ anymore.

I think most of the big name trance dj's are similarly good. Most of them I've listened to sets from sounded like on mix cd's. None of them had any experiments going on or anything interesting (aside from the track's obviouslly).
I think in the future it's going to be even harder comparing them if they don't incorporate schratching, more efx usage or clever acapella usage, since most of them will probably stop using vinyl & cd's and move on to Ableton Live (like Sasha, G & D and more). I think you simply can't compete against computers when it comes to running two tracks at the same time.

If I had to choose between them I'd probably go for Above & Beyond, if they are as good as on their last years Essential Mix (that's the best trance set I've heard for since Tiesto's remarkable essetial mix in 2001).

DJ. Disc Jockey. As far as I know Sasha doesn't use the little round thingies we call discs. He doesn't even need to manually beatmatch.

i never saw media/equipment specifications for djs

I've never considered records disc, so I don't get your point. A Dj in my books is they guy who's playing the music at wherever people are partying, it don't matter what he usees. I might also ad that in the 80's alot of the music played in clubs in Detroit & Chicago was played of tapes & real2real's, and thos I will never consider discs.
