im not an expert on this, but if you have an acapella, then you should know its bpm. Then you have to do some maths to find out how much you have to slow it down or speed it up. Alternatively, you could do it by ear. This method is often better because if the vocals are from a pop song and you are inserting them into a trance track, you might even be able to get away with not altering the speed at all but rather breaking up the vocals into smaller parts.

some good advice there, i found in the old days of creating 'mashups' urghhhh i hate that word now, i used to do it by ear and it used to work alot better than calculating this bpm to match this tempo etc.

well, you could put your acapella in the sequencer of your choice over a simple 4/4 beat and set up bpm using trial and error method
or you can load your acapella in wave editor of your choice, set loop points until the loop sounds well timed, and then calculate the bpm out of it. for example, if your acapella is 3.34 seconds long, well looped, and you think it fits nicely for a two-bar loop, the tempo for it should be (2*4*60)/3.34=143,712 bpm.
2 - 2 bars
4 - 4 kicks (beats) in a bar
3.34 - loop length in seconds
60 - number of seconds in a minute, since you use beats per minute.

if you already know the bpm rate of that acapella, use the timestretch function in your wave editor, or use sampler that can do it, like kontakt or included sampler in fruity (depends on what you use). cubase has timestretch function, for example, so the length of an acapella can be set that way.

about the key - well, that's a hard one. i aint even going there
