pls help with game problem...(installing)

Hey guys and girls, I was trying to install Max Payne. Got it from a friend, it works on his PC. I'm using the SAME CD. But when I try to install, it prompted me to insert disc 0 cause it was looking for a file "data3.cab" which is not on the disc. But it is only ONE disc and not TWO, and my friend was able to install and play with the same Disc.
So today I installed WinXP on a completely new harddrive and tried again, and it still didn't work!
How can that be? I'm all confused...the file can't be missing.
Please do something!
