House tracks: What kind of synth or effect is this?
Dumb question I know, but I'm curious.. what kind of synth or effect is this? It's like a "wah-wah" type effect found in lot of deep house/chillout music.
For an example, click here and listen to the "Foulchette" track. Start it at the very middle of it.
And here's one of my favorite tracks with the cool effect, it literally starts right at the beginning:
It's cheesy, yeah, yeah, but I just think it's so smooth, I love it.

It's a Rhodes, isn't it?
Or a Wurlitzer, but both are electric keyboards relying on a hammer striking a xylophone-like tine (in the case of a Rhodes) or reed (in the case of a Wurlitzer), rather than a string, in order to generate tones. While the two are normally distinguishable that particular sample was put through some fairly severe but effective processing.
