midaV - Forever Dreaming .... reviews appreciated!

Finally finished some last minute editing on one of my newer tracks. Worked on this particular project on and off for well over a month now, and have come to be pretty satisfied with it. It's got a nice ambient/uplifting atmosphere. Give it a listen and enjoy!

Reviews appreciated!

pads are great... kick is too "clicky" imo, doesn't have enough sub punch to it.

the breakdown is fine, but the build back into the main section is extremely weak, there's no anticipation in that build at all

percussion is weak and needs to be more prominent, i can barely hear that clap. personally, not a fan of that lead.

bass is fine, would be better if there was another synth to compliment that bass

hope that helps

Thanks alot for the constructive feedback Etheral tis much appreciated!

Anyhow I think the clap could have used some work as well... but as far as the percussion I personally didnt want to make it anything too exciting as I was trying to maintain a more mellow atmosphere rather then anything to hyped up.. you know?

Other then that I think you hit some nice points.. thx again!

> overall this is a relaxing piece, nice to listen to. I really think you need some more percussion layers too. and a main open hat

nice track.

as I listen..

nice effect in the beginning..

ack! off-beat bassline..

kick is good..

nice pad

don't like the reverb on that clap.. nice idea.. I don't really like it though..

that synth lead-ish thing is ok.. sort of annyong (at 1:50)

the reverb on the clap sounds better later on in the track when there is more of a texture

piano is alright.. composition could of been better though.. some of the notes could have been better placed among the progression..

the composition on the piano definitly needs to be better since it's the main element in the track..

there could be more elements in teh track still.. it's quite empty..

mastering is good, though.. definitly quite good..

the synth at 5:20 isn't too bad.. again, composition needs improvement.. there is no element of it that catches my attention.. plus no repitition of an element. it basically just keeps running..

still think project cube is your best

I like the bass.

I don't think I've ever heard a snare roll quite like that one. I like it that way.

Floops effect at 1:40 if I'm not mistaken. Play around with that a bit more.

Don't make your attack so punchy in the first breakdown; it doesn't fit quite right with the feel there. But bring the punch in for the more beat driven part.

Good ambience in the breakdown.

Very fun tune. I liked listing to it. What did you actually use for this btw?

Thanks alot you guys for the great feedback.

To 'thoughtlessjex': I use Cubase SX and basically a bunch of plugins. The strings were done with 'Edirol Orchestra' and the rest is pretty much your average vsti's ... 'vstation' 'atmosphere' etc.
