i suggest try making music that doesnt bore you. I listened to tuns of punk, heavy metal, R n B, Hip Hop, rap and listening to the music i got ideas for songs i like. I know what you mean thought, like watching a cheapo scary movie with ur friends its like "....oh well this is obvious the wolf is going to show up in 3....2....1...." *wolf attacks victim blood flyin everywhere* and ur friends tell you off for spoiling it. But i dont know, maybe u should try to make some songs that dont have any ratio to them but are all progressive but in a way that keeps your listeners off gaurd. Just try listening to other types of music for a while. U'll come back....THEY ALWAYS DOOOO....gl

Apparently breaks have grown even more stale than trance has (according to break-heads, anyways). Jungle's showing some signs lately though. Maybe delve into some of that.
You can't go wrong with house music, though. Especially of the deep, funky, electro type that's really getting popular again.
Oh, and disco punk! Yeah, you've got's to check that stuff out. Killer material. Acts like Tiga, Alkan, Felix, Metro Area, DFA, Playgroup, etc. Anything coming out on Turbo Recordings really.
