Any Diffrence: CDJ-1000 - S5000

hi, just one last simple question.

Is there anything the CDJ-1000mk2 can do, that the DN-S5000 can`t? or the other way?

mk2 is more precise. You'll notice the delay/bleed on the S5000's

The spinning platter is totally useless and I heard it was driven by a rubber band

Go for the mk2

The S5000 does has the Alpha track function, which can come in handy depending on what you want to do.

The 1000mk2's have the SD card readers, REALLY handy after I realized what you actually do with it. hahah...

The cue setup/system on the Denon's is quite the pain in the arse. SOOO easy on the Pios.

Pios are more precise like mentioned.

I was just out looking at the S3000 and 800's yesterday, and I came to the conclusion to not get either, and save up for the 1000mk2's.

Well, you 1000mk2 is said to have a better scratch sound to it, like said it has an SD Card, which if you plan to play out you will learn to love, they are both accurate to 0.02% accuracy but the Pio can do it +/- 6%, while the Denon can only do it +/- 4%, it also has wave display that can come in handy showing you the breaks on the cd, IMO it has a much better cue system on it, and IMO the whole thing is easier to use than the S5000, but try out both, you might really like the Denon, I just personally prefer Pioneers way of doing things, as for features of the Denon, it has Alpha track (think second cd player built in), 4 hot cues (if I remember correctly), 2 samplers, spinning platter, has some cool platter effects, has Hot Disc so you can eject a CD and it will still play for 30 seconds, hmm I think it has a couple more things, don't know to much about the 5000.

But anyway, go try both of them.

I don't think CDJ1000's play MP3's... The denon definitly does.

I have one of each and like my pioneer better. To me, it has a better feel to it & a bigger range at .02 accuracy. There seem to be more buttons and knobs on the Pioneer as well where the Denon has an everything button that can get confusing.

One thing that I love on the Denon is the reverse feature. There is a mode (I believe it is called "Dump") where the forward pointer in the track keeps moving when you engage the effect so when you stop the effect, you jump to where the track would be. This helps as it does not disturb the overall flow of the song. Ohh, and the Denon's have upgradeable firmware.

Yea I tried that Dump effect, its really good, takes abit of time to get sounding good with timing, but its great once you got it down.
