Why a lot of people do not listen to trance anymore

I got this from another website, but it seems to be true....

**

Here is why, step by step:

Trance is elusively the easiest to make. So everyone is making it.
You have people who make EuroCheese but call it Trance.

They give bad names to Trance when they are not Trance.

EuroCheese is bubblegum so they enter music charts very easily. They become annoying because they aren't good music and they get too much airplayed.

People who weren't into Trance in the first place grew angry as they get annoyed by EuroCheese. They do not and cannot distinguish between Cheese and Trance. So they swear to hate Trance due to their confusion.

Trance requires people to take time and let go to build the "trancy" feeling. Nowadays, who has time anymore?

Trance and Eurocheese tend to sound alike in the intros. People who do not know Trance never get to learn to distinguish between the two. They never learn how to properly listen to Trance.

As EuroCheese occupies the chart, these people grow even more angry at Trance.

If Trance is dead, the ones to blame are Eurocheese supportors and those who never take time to have time to distinguish between real Trance and EuroCheese.

People do hate trance because they associate it with the most over-blown, cheesy examples. Some people just hate it for the image of hating it though.

For me it's not the cheese. I think I can point out cheese and the non-cheese pretty easily. You know which dj's do play cheese, and who don't, you know which cd's contain the cheese, and which don't. Lately I am turning to other genre's (like prog./melodic house) because of the fact every trancetrack IMO sounds the same, a general sound that you can find in the ASOT-episodes. That well 'Whiteroomish' sound, with floaty female vocals and a melody in where there isn't something uplifting (more grown out of my personal love for an uplifting part in a trancetrack). And for hardtrance (the genre I truly love) this year has been very poor. Many hardtranceproducers and dj's turned towards hardstyle (which I do like, but only for dancing, can't listen to it quite long) or are turning towards cheesy Special D-soundish tracks. I still buy the Trancemaster cd's and the compilations I collect, but I feel that I am getting less interested in trance.....

a lot of people are sheep.

it's not like I care what other people think about the music I listen to, or if many people dislike it...

A lot of people don't like trance anymore because it was overrun with grandiloquent chorus melodies. What they liked about trance before has either been removed or made secondary to the new hooks and easily memorable aspects of the genre.

Music is like a train... it stops off at a different location every year or so and then moves on.

There will always be people who prefered the previous stop (stops) and those who are keen on the next stop. That is the nature of music. That is the nature of preference.

Its not for the cheese, its just that the sound has to evolve. There is nothing more you can do to trance to make it sound fresh. Basic intro, breakdown, first melody, breakdown, main melody, breakdown, outro format is just getting old. Sure you can change up the drum pattern and the synth format.. but the basic structure is just getting boring to the old fans. If you slow down the BPM and put more focus on the bassline and the drums your are able to work out a more innovative way to lace the track. This is the reason why people are getting interested in prog-house, prog-breaks, and etc. Mixing of various styles of electronic music is the best. I think that there are artists who do this.. and they are well worth listening to.

For me the answer is easy, most trance just sounds the same. I shall not go on.

I think it's the main reason.
