Opinions on FX

Hi I had been using reason for the last 2 years. I decided to enhance my productions by getting Cubase SX. I've had it now for 5 weeks and have pretty much gotten to grips with it.

Is it just me or are the FX nowhere near as good as reason 2.5's. I am a beginner so I could have this wrong. It seems that things like delay/reverb are much easier to use, more responsive in reason. What do you think?

Can you recommend any very highquality fx units. I have waves platinum pack but haven't started using it yet. Are the fx in waves better than that in cubase and reason. If so, I'll put reason completely out of the picture as I only use it for the effects at the moment and I get (more than)good enough sounds out of the vsti's in cubase. Does anyone else do this. Do you agree?

Thx

Karl

While it's a subjective matter, I believe the stock effects in Cubase SX are much better than in Reason 2.5. Although I rarely use either application these days, I own Cubase SL and Reason 2.5. In the past, I would rewire Reason 2.5 to Cubase SL in order to use the effects in Cubase with the sounds from Reason.
