Yes the scene is pretty weak in Boise. There are mostly kiddie raves for like 13 year olds that happen once in awhile. They are so rare that people from wisonsin, montana will drive up.
There is one club near the capital that use to be a bank so they have no sign and I don't know what it's called but it's right dead center in the city .. right across it is a a food court with an outdoors upper deck. The dance floor is the size of my apartment ie 10 people can dance max. But mostly people hit the bar at that place while 3-4 people breakdance up front. These guys are doing black flips, head spins, and up and down rocks.. so you'd look really stupid walking up and doing liquid.
There's another place called the bass room but I imagine thats mostly hip hop as I've never been there. Only other things I can imagine is to check out any frat parties at Boise State Univ. The city is really small and you can walk past all the clubs in 5-10 minutes. The problem is most of the clubs are full of rock music.. as you'll mostly hear metallica or stone temple pilots or pearl jam playing or hip hop pop stuff like 50 cent, eminem.
