Thanks for listening Macjei, I'll agree it does sound pretty simple, but there is a point to that besides for the fact, I've yet to find my own unique 'synth sound's'.
Not a lot of classical music was ment to have a beat behind it, and with classical and chillout music, less is always better, not having a lot of things going on at once is key to such music. In classical, melody is over the rythm, and in EDM it's rythm over melody (trance being one of the small exceptions). Hardly any real big builds, or driving synths, or phasing, etc, etc. I'm glad you listened, your opinion is always enjoyed
BTW, left my computer on, and well it's just sitting on 425 MB's

Hi Greg! Thanks for the reply!
It is indeed Fruit Loops, but I didn't use a lot of FLS instruments for my song. I used samples for my percussion, Synth 1 for my appegrio, FL Keys don't sound that bad to me, and well the 3xOSC (please don't kill me ) for my strings near the end.

sound pretty good - its definately unique, but i'm probably a little critical because Canon in D is definately my favorite calssical piece... i wouldn't call it chillout though, and i think you could take the tempo down a bit, or leave the tempo and change up the beat - i think it would sound hot if it was a little more breaks-y... one last thing - why didnt you use some really wide-band trancey strings for the backup melody - like the strings sound in the original... |
Hey, thanks for listening, feedback and replies are cool! Canon is definitely one of my favorites as well, which is another reason I made this. Also, I didn't use any samples, I made a midi, and used the score here. I wish I knew my strings well... I don't have many samples, and I only have four VST's (not including the ones that came with FLS, Superwave P8, reFX Claw, Synth 1, and Triangle II) so my FL Studio is pretty small, and I haven't got the hang of those just yet. In previous versons I kept the beat breaky, but in the middle I just couldn't find the perfect beat except 4x4, so I slowed the BPM's down, so it's just like a mini build up .
