Full Sail? Is it worth it?

Hello. I've been an amateur dj 6 years/producer 4 years and am about to graduate collage with a business degree. I've been using Reason 2.5 for about 2 years and it still sounds like a rookie put the song together... I purchased the M-Box to create clear vocal lines and samples but I just feel that my sequencing and mastering are sub-par at best. I just joined this forum and was thinking about going to Full Sail to get around people with the same interests as mine. I was wondering if Full Sail was worth my time and money. I do want to someday produce music and create my own record label... but I need to prove that I can produce well for myself first. I read that it focuses on Pro Tools and mastering among other things... and I have a $400 program I have no idea how to use... Should I go to the institute or just take the Pro Tools online courses to improve my mastering and/or sequencing.

fuck no, fullsail is way to damn exp and they are starting to suck now as they are trying to rush people through those courses. Check out sae.edu they have like 4 schools here in the states and tuition is only about 14gs compared to 40. I went to sae and i loved it.
When im done with my college degree im thinking of going to sae in holland and taking the electronic music production course. Dont go to fullsail, rip off from hell.

Thanks neo. I'm about to check out that site. During your time there what exactly did you learn?

think long and hard before u go to audio school, ask yourself if u can handle working 80-100 work weeks starting off at about $7 an hour. The industry is going to shit to man with people recording in their bedrooms the only business is the big time and they will work u to death. Im going back to college and only do audio as a hobie because i turned what i loved into a job that i hated. I use to work 15-18 hr shifts and make hardly any money, lots of people would say "its all about the music", well i also want to eat and have a social life. My friend who owns a studio here in town worked for sony in new york and one of the head audio guys told him he would be divorced before he got to the top.

Everyone I've asked said Full Sail isn't worth it. If you're trying to make a career from sound engineering then forget it. If you're just trying to pick up some skills to be a better producer then take classes at community college.

wow neo geo. you've put a lot of thoughts in my head. I was thinking of creating a studio and producing as my career. It's gonna be a great career but I was just looking for a way to add some plaques on the wall. heh
