DDTT is a variation of house, I would say I was more into that then nu school breaks. Old school breaks are where its at, especially with a twist of funk.
I think almost everyone on here was into trance originally.
For me I went from trance, to techno, to house. I still love techno, not so much the trance(I find it to cheese and melodic, there are still a few good trance tracks though.)
House has such a great variety recently.
I really liked the jungle/dnb about 3 years ago, but I havent heard anything original to date.
Now I like to hear varierty in a set, if you can make the tracks work together and sound smooth, you gots talent.

Well I was talking about TA, specifically. When I got into it 3 years ago most people on here were still in the trance phase. Obviously there was that group of people who were into house from way before, but that was a small minority. Slowly but surely, more and more people have converted |
Agreed. I too came to this site because i was getting into trance in a city which was all about House. I needed a place to download my favorite PVD sets and singles (Yeah...i confess PVD still = GOD in my book, even though it's been years since i've heard him live or even listen to his sets)
I was on a NYC board back in the day...but if you ever talked about Trance on that board you'd get roasted by NYC house heads. I remember it was thru that board that i went to check out Danny T for the first time in 98...Man, what an education.
People need to open their eyes to the different form of music available out there. I think the only reason people these days talk trash about trance is because people who love trance aren't accepting of any other type of EDM. It's like if you enjoy trance, then progressive has to be boring...or house has to be gay. It's this type of attitude that usually pisses of people who retaliate by saying trance is cheesy and commercial. Truth is, i'm pretty sure there is some really great trance being produced...it's just harder to find now that there are so many mediocre producers dumping their garbage into the mix as well.

I agree with Tomeboy...old school breaks rock ! I've fallen in love with the hip hop style breaks as well and usually prefere a little fusion with hip hop and breaks when i hear it at the club. Breakbeats and Hip Hop go hand in hand, so if you know your history or were ever a bboy/ breaks head then you know what i'm talking about.
Hybrized breaks are also a big favorite...that big breaks sound works exceptionally well in a club, and if you're comming from a hip hop background then i think breaks offers the easiest transition into EDM. House would be next because of it's close association with RnB and Soul.
