What makes a DJ a technical skilled DJ, what kind of skills are required?

Is it Dave Clarke? I often read he has it, but what is it that is so great about his skills?

Jeff Mills?

Richie Hawtin?

James Zabiela?

Who? And why?

I am not talking about interacting with the audience, but specificly about the technical stuff, things like scratching, mixing, backspinning and more of that stuff.

Can tiesto do these things? Can he do it good? Why?

When you mention someone, please give some reasons. I am trying to learn about techniques.

Also a Tiesto fan, but hasn't he himself admitted that there are a lot of DJs that are technically better than him in terms of their mixing and DJing ability?

i really hope you are being sarcastic.

no trance DJ could ever be considered the best technical dj, unless he has skills he isnt showcasing.

there just isnt that much involved in djing trance.

house/breaks/hiphop/techno...thats where the skills start to come in.

Trance Djs use their skills well, PVD, armin, Tiesto, all do great jobs of mixing, but it just isnt as demanding technically.
